Rebecca was apart of a SXSW round table hosted by the SBA Administrator Guzman, Secretary of Education Dr. Cardona and Congressman Casar. In attendance were many Hispanic and African American Congressional and Texas area business and community leaders. The focus was on advocacy, policy changes and addressing the issues of investing in public schools and ensuring minority students specifically, in Title 1 inner city schools, have the money and representation needed in order to thrive, graduate and excel post high school.
Given the work accomplished for over a decade through Rebecca and David's non profit LaunchPad, these topics are near and dear to the mission of LaunchPad. Inner city communities and schools have unique needs that require all sides (regardless of political aisle) to come together to solve. Rebecca was one of only four small business owners from Austin invited to be on the round table.
