Rebecca Contreras recently joined community leaders, advocates, and elected officials at Girl Scouts of Central Texas in Austin to support a new online safety initiative launched through Not on Our Watch TX, an initiative of Texas Women in Business in partnership with Girl Scouts of Central Texas and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.
The initiative aims to equip young girls with practical tools to safely navigate today's digital world. Through a new online safety curriculum and Girl Scout patch program, participants learn how to recognize online grooming and manipulation tactics, understand safe versus unsafe online behavior, establish healthy boundaries, and know when and how to seek help.
Rebecca participated alongside leaders including Elizabeth Avellán, Andrea Sparks, and Representative Caroline Harris Davila in conversations focused on youth protection, prevention, and the shared responsibility communities have in creating safer environments for young people both online and offline.
As Co-Founder of LaunchPad The Center and Founder of Girls of Legacy, Rebecca remains committed to initiatives that empower, educate, and protect youth. She believes meaningful change happens when nonprofits, educators, business leaders, and community organizations work together to provide resources, raise awareness, and create lasting impact for the next generation.
