GOL 2023
The annual Girls of Legacy event was held Tuesday April 11 at the Headliners Club in Austin Texas and what a success it was! Over 100 gathered to a sold out event to demonstrate their support and to meet the 2022/2023 Girls of Legacy. Event special speaker, Rocket Scientist Sylvia Acevedo brought the house down with an awe-inspiring message and compelling charge: “We may not share a past – but we ALL share a future. Choose to be difference maker in the lives of these Girls Future!” Latina Film Producer, TroubleMaker Studios, Elizabeth Avellan inspired guests to get behind Girls of Legacy and invest in the next generation of Texas based talent. With a joyful heart, I want to express my gratitude to each of you for attending the Girls of Legacy Event this past Tuesday! This year’s event went off with a bang, with nearly 100 showing up to a sold-out event to demonstrate support, meet the Girls of Legacy, and show their encouragement. I was able to sidebar with each of the girls and they all expressed the awe they were in as they felt the encouragement and love each of you expressed. My special speaker Sylvia Acevedo brought the house down with an awe-inspiring message and compelling charge to all of us: “We may not share a past – but we ALL share a future. Choose to be a difference maker in the lives of these girls’ future!” Latina Film Producer, Elizabeth Avellan, inspired us to get behind the Girls of Legacy and invest in the next generation of Texas-based talent. Sylvia expressed that many of you present asked her for the “Texas demographics” she shared so she wanted me to provide the attached deck (click button below) to all of you! The numbers are astounding and through Girls of Legacy, we are taking on just a tiny piece of this incredibly large pie to be a part of the solution to ensure our future of Texas is well prepared to enter the Texas workforce strong, and to succeed!

Many of you gave that night and for that I want to say THANK YOU! For those that were not able to give a gift or participate in the auction, please consider giving a gift, and remember that I am personally matching every dollar so $20 turns into $40 for DOUBLE the impact! Although we did raise money we are short of meeting our goal of $30,000 to yield $60,000 in scholarships this fall 2023! My team and I are also praying for every patron that gives, may God return to each giver 100% blessing for the gift.
